What started as one man with a truck and Carrier training is now a Hawkins team that still answers its own phone — backed by Accurate Air Solutions.
Where it began
It started with Tom
Tom Hawkins trained at Carrier's Engineering Design School in 1970, and in March 1976 he opened Hawkins Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Inc. right here in Abilene. The idea was simple, and it hasn't changed: do honest work, treat people like neighbors, and stand behind the job.
Over 50 years, Tom and Lee Ann built one of the most trusted names in Big Country HVAC — a Carrier Hall of Fame dealer with two national awards. They've since retired, and the name they built carries on.

Same name, same standards — a deeper bench
Hawkins Air Conditioning is now the residential HVAC arm of Accurate Air Solutions, LLC and is led by Josh Strasdin and the Hawkins team. Debbie and Amber still answer the phones here in Abilene.

In the community
We show up for Abilene off the clock, too
Every fall, our crew joins Heat the Town — a Saturday fixing heat for neighbors who can't afford the repair. We also support Meals on Wheels and St. Paul UMC. Fifty years in one town means these aren't strangers. They're neighbors.
What the Big Country says
Our geothermal A/C went out while we were gone eight days. Josh came the next day before noon, and within an hour he had us going again.
